I think I have to update now or I will be lazy to do so later.
Ok, if you are following me on twitter, you knew that I had attended SMU entrance exam and interview just now; 21 April 2012. (Must thank my babe who made it known. Haha!)
Anyhoot. This was what happened. Hope the info helps the future shortlisted candidates. ;)
Entrance Exam:
The comprehension titled "The certainty of doubt" was a challenge!! 5 questions altogether. The title seemed easy but the passage was about law(??) and roman times (bleargh!) However, Alhamdullilah, the composition was much easier. We had to choose one of the 2 options given. I chose the topic on admission exam. I couldn't really remember the question but it was something like.. "What is the most suitable essay question for university admission exam? Explain in details the question suitability and how the essay should be evaluated." The other option was about whether it is fair to say/judge that a person is wise based on their financial and political views. We had to write 300 to 400 words.
Interview:
We were asked to go to a quarantine room. They actually separate us to groups of A to D and we had to seat with our group. (hint hint: this part you can actually choose to be with your friend/s. There are about 8 people in a group. So during the registration, make sure that you queue with you buddy. Highly likely you will be in the same group with your friend/s) I was in group A and all my group members were from JC! Haha! Okayy so in the room, we had to read an article about American university students and brainstorm questions that the interviewers(2 SMU professors) might ask. So basically the interview was merely about the article. They asked our opinions, experiences, etc. It lasted for 25-30minutes. According to the professors, that is how the class will be conducted in SMU. It is not a one way communication but 2. All the students MUST participate. So now I understand why they die die need to interview all the candidates because they personally want to evaluate whether we are able to cope with that kind of study environment.
The exam and the interview lasted for about 4 hours (including the waiting time)
Okie dokie.
I am just hoping for the best.
Lets continue to pray for each other aye :)
